the 2008 annual AMVER awards

The 2008 annual AMVER awards took place at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel and were hosted by the International Propeller Club of the United States.

117 Greek shipping companies received AMVER awards on behalf of 862 ships (an increase from 836 last year) which ranked Greece as no.1 on the award podium for the year.

Mr. Andrew J. Shapiro, the Assistant Secretary of State for Political and Military affairs presented the awards and honorable guests included the Ambassador of the United States in Greece Mr. Daniel V. Speckhard, the representative of the United States Coast Guard Mrs. Sally Brice O'Hara, the Ambassador of China in Greece Mr. H.E. Luo Linquan, the Ambassador of Japan in Greece Mr. Takanori Kitamura and the President of the International Propeller Club in Piraeus, Mr. Nicholas Pappadakis.

Ms. Katerina Kanellopoulou with Mr. Nicholas Petromylonakis on behalf of Entrust Maritime Co. Ltd. were honoured to have received two blue AMVER awards for the excellent onplot performance of the MV KOSMOS and MV AENAOS under the AMVER program.

Entrust Maritime Co. Ltd. extends its congratulations to all those in both shore and shipboard management which contributed to this significant accomplishment.
